Product Review: Tre'Luxe

So ... remember in my last post I casually mentioned I was an almost reformed product junkie?!? Did you see the word almost?  Well I'm backsliding a little *hangs head* ... but I promise that this time it was worth it!  A cyber friend of mine recommended me to a lovely couple based out of Chicago who has started their own hair care line.  A few email exchanges later ... and BOOM!  More hair products show up my door!

The line: Tre'Luxe
The claim: "offering premium, botanically based products, a socially-conscious focus, and a new philosophy for translating internal beauty into external appeal"
Does it work?  Keep reading to find out!

Untie the Knot Nourishing Leave-in Conditioner
Key Ingredients: Aloe leaf juice, Coconut Milk, and Broccoli Seed oil

When it comes to leave-in's, I'm pretty loyal to Paul Mitchell, however, the Untie the Knot Nourishing Leave-in Conditioner may quite possibly replace it.  This leave-in is creamy and has great slip.  It also comes with a pump, which allows for easier application and better control of how much product you are putting on your hair.

Curl Supreme Styling Creme
Key Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Apricot Oil, and Shea Nut butter

My hair loves heavy creams, so this curl defining creme fits the bill.  It does a great job at giving my hair moisture and goes on very smooth.  I'm a little heavy handed when it comes to this one because I like my hair to feel weighed down.  I also love that it doesn't feel greasy.

Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styler Gel
Key Ingredients: Avocado extract, Honey extract, and Sage extract

This styling gel has a jelly-like consistency and is relatively thin.  If you are looking for something heavy, then it's best to stick with EcoStyler.  However, this gel delivers crazy shine and left my hair feeling uber-moisturized.  Could not keep my hands out of my hair! When it dried, there were no flakes or residue.  A little goes a long way with this on and for more staying power, I recommend using a cream underneath it.

Reflex Curl Styling Serum
Key Ingredients: Aloe Leaf Juice, Coconut Water, and Grape Seed extract

I haven't had a chance to try this one yet but I've read great things about.  The consistency is thin and suited to provide only flexible hold, so I'm going to try it on a flexi-rod or Curlformer set in the near future.  I'll be sure to keep y'all posted!

Overall, I would give this line of products 2 thumbs up!  I'm looking forward to experimenting with them more over the coming weeks and I'll be sure to report back!

And for those who are a little more visual ... I made a video showing how I applied the products to my hair for a twist out!
