Faux Curly Bob - Natural Hair

Hey folks!

I figured I'd try something a little new with my hair last night!  I love my twist out's but I've been yearning for a new "shape."  The way my hair falls is a bit *blah* and I'm not ready to cut my hair so I wondered if there was a way for me to "fake" the shape of a bob (short in the back and long in the front).

I washed my hair with Shea Moisture's African Black Soap Shampoo followed by a deep condition with Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioner mixed with Avocado Oil. My hair LOVES this combo btw. After rinsing out the deep conditioner, I applied Paul Mitchell The Conditioner leave-in and Avocado Oil in sections.  I then separated my hair into the sections you see below.

4 total sections - two on each side with a middle part and 2 sections top and bottom for the back.

I applied Eden BodyWorks Curl Defining Creme with Olive oil Eco Styler Gel and flat twisted the two back sections and rolled the ends with pink perm rods.

Since I want the 2 front sides to fall longer I flat twisted those sections without perm rods - 5 total on each side.

Peep the finished product below!

Side note: if you are going to attempt this on wet hair be sure to give your hair ample time to dry or consider sitting under the dryer.  When I took my rollers out after 15 hours my hair still wasn't dry.  And for more elongation in the front try stretching the loose twists by wrapping them around your head and pin in place until dry!

I'm a bit of a procrastinator and hadn't really intended to "celebrate" Valentine's Day and then Pinterest happened.  'Nuff said. One of the recipes that caught my eye were pancakes ... of the red velvet variety. *begin drooling here* Since I didn't have much time to prepare, I decided to pick up a premade mix from World Market "My favorite ... Pancake Mix - Red Velvet."  Yep, that's what it's called. :) To my surprise, they were quite delicious and SUPER EASY.  I used a heart shaped sandwich cutter that I purchased from The One Spot at Target and then topped them off with Duncan Hines Homestyle Cream Cheese frosting (cupid's arrow of course).  Also perfect with 100% Maple Syrup.

Bon Appetit !
