Normalcy

Blazer::  Target - old ( I like these here and here)  ||  Pants: A Pea in the Pod (maternity)  ||
Shoes: Nine West - old  ||  Necklace: Old Navy  ||  Bracelet: Versona accessories  ||
Bag: Versona accessories  ||  Hair: twist out half up/down

I'm kind of proud to say that at 30 weeks I don't look that pregnant from the front, but I'm feeling every bit of it.  Leg swelling, groin pain, heartburn ... I've got it all.  With that being said, putting on clothes (especially heels) is a bit of a chore but I'll withstand the pain for a few hours just to feel and look somewhat normal.  Although I will say these wedges lasted all of 30 minutes.  But hey .. . I tried!

Twist and Curl featuring Creme of Nature

Hey Curls!
In an attempt to clean my product-laden cabinet, I've been revisiting a few oldies and giving others a second look before I decide whether to get rid of them all together.  I received Creme of Nature Pudding Perfection several months ago in a monthly Curlbox subscription and wasn't impressed with my first use.  Since I couldn't remember exactly why I didn't like it the first time, I figured I'd revisit it again.

Enter in: the twist and curl.  I posted this pic about a week ago on Instagram showing my twists and my nighttime routine.  I believe I had about 16-18 2 strand twists on clean, damp hair and used pink perm rods for the ends.

My hair wasn't completely dry by morning so I sat under the dryer for an hour.  Once all dry, I took down the twists and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw.  Peep the pics below ...

So about the Pudding Perfection ...
Cost: $8.99 for 11.5 oz at Sally's, also available at Wal-Mart and on amazon.com
Key Ingredients: Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil (but nome of these ingredients are in the top 5)
Ingredients you might not like: Dimethicone, Glycerin (these are in the top 5)
Claims:
Fall in love with your curls using Pudding Perfection, a moisture-enriched, curl-enhancing creme, formulated especially to tackle frizz, shrinkage and dryness of natural coils and curls. This versatile pudding delivers soft, stretched curls with Exotic Shine all in ONE jar. Discover your perfect curl! "
What I think:  I think the Pudding Perfection did a decent job.  The Creme of Nature website claims this pudding to be soft hold which I normally steer clear of but my hair actually held up pretty well in this humid Texas weather.  And as a bonus, I didn't even have to use my beloved EcoStyler gel over it.  My hair also stayed moisturized for about 3 days before I had to retwist it.  In terms of shrinkage, I can't really call it ... my mane typically doesn't do too bad in the shrinkage department.
But before I give this product too many praises, I did have a couple of problems.  First, was the scent.  While some curly's love it ... I am not one of those people.  It's too perfumey in my opinion.  Typically the fragrance of most products tend to dissipate after your hair is dry, this continued to linger for several days after, which left my pregnant nose in overdrive.  So ... if you are into that sort of thing, that could be a plus for you.  Secondly, I retwisted my hair with the same product on old, dry hair and it was a major fail.  Like ... my hair was in a ponytail about 2 hours after untwisting type of fail.  The instructions say to apply to damp hair, and in my defense I did mist my hair with some water before applying the pudding and retwisting, but I definitely think it works better on clean, damp hair.
Final Thoughts: The pudding did what it said it would, but the dimethicone is going to make this a "once in a while" styling pudding for me and not a staple.  I rarely use shampoo so the build up from this product might reak havoc on my hair.
Hope this helps!
