Transitions

tran·si·tion
tranˈziSH(ə)n,tranˈsiSH(ə)n/
noun
1. the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

Transitioning into Tampa life hasn't been as easy breezy as I first assumed.  Warm, sunny skies welcoming me with open arms, the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach, and long walks with my family are a few scenarios that played out in my mind.  It's been about 2 weeks and 3 days since we arrived and those warm, sunny skies have mostly been cold, rainy days, the sounds of cranky, aggravated children, and long drives to and from work (1hr each way to be exact).
-_-

This transition has been hard.  And come to think about it, I think every major life change has some degree of difficulty, whether it be having a baby, starting a new job, returning home from deployment, going off to college ... The list goes on and on.  Sometimes I wonder if the next time will be smoother, less stressful, less bumpy, more enjoyable.  But for a moment today I actually stopped and realized that these transitions are only temporary.  Change is only temporary.  Eventually we'll settle into our new life but for now if we keep pushing forward, we'll all make it ... together.

  1. You're right, it's only temporary and soon things will settle then down and a new "transition". Happy to hear you are making the best of the new experience. Cam Picasso might have a bright future as an artist :)
